Who’s Who

So, like every good show, there are many great characters involved with the show. Below is a list of the characters and where they stand on the show…

Colonial Fleet

President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) – She was the Secretary of Education before the Cylon attack, but after the 42 people ahead of her died, she became the President. She lost her re-election bid to Gaius, but his actions on New Caprica led to her regaining her post as President.

Admiral William Adama (Edward James Olmos) – Before the attack, he was get ready to retire. After the attack, he leads the fleet on a journey for Earth, as Commander. When the now destroyed Battlestar Pegasus joined the fleet and he took control of both ships, Roslin promotes him to Admiral. He is Lee’s father and acts like a father to Starbuck.

Dr. Gaius Baltar (James Callis) – He is possibly the greatest character ever created. He is hard to describe because of all the layers to his character, but he is the one responsible for the Cylon attack because he was sleeping with Number Six. Now he is hiding a harem that worships the One God and not the Gods like the rest of the Colonial Fleet.

Lee “Apollo” Adama (Jamie Bamber) – The prodigal son. He joins the fleet right before the attack and just recently gave up his post as Commander of the Air Group (CAG). He loves Starbuck, but married Dualla, and now that he is joining the government it appears as if that marriage is dissolved.

Kara “Starbuck” Thrace (Katee Sackhoff) – The wild child. She is the hot shot pilot and has a bit of a crazy streak. She was recently thought to have been killed in a suicide mission, but she reappeared at the end of season 3 claiming to have found Earth. She is married to Sam Anders, but is in love with Lee, which is ironic because she was going to marry his brother Zac.

Karl “Helo” Agathon (Tahmoh Penikett) – Helo is an interesting character. During the attack, he gave up his seat to Baltar and was expecting to die on Caprica, given all of the radiation on the planet. However, Sharon “came back” to save him. While on the planet, he and Sharon conceive what would become the first half-breed, Hera. The two would eventually marry. While Tigh was living on New Caprica, Helo was the acting Executive Office (XO) on Galactica.
